Cake Decoration ABC Level 1 Award

If you are interested in developing your skills and knowledge in cake decoration and sugar craft this course is for you.

Entry requirements

You do not need any previous qualifications or experience to start these courses; however, if you already have experience of cake decoration and sugar craft you may be able to start at a higher Level.

Course content

This course will cover:

  • Marzipan
  • Royal icing
  • Sugar paste
  • Pastillage
  • Cream
  • Health and Hygiene
  • Basic Exploratory Introduction to Design

Assessment methods

There is no final examination, but you will be continuously assessed throughout the course by your tutor and your results will be externally verified.

Further study and career options

Successful completion of these courses will enable you to pursue cake decoration and sugar craft to a high level, be it for teaching, exhibition work, working in industry or purely for personal achievement.

Protective clothing must be worn in the classroom.
