Practical Planting, Establishment & Propagation

This course is aimed at developing basic planting, ground preparation, pruning and propagation techniques including: seed sowing, cuttings, division and pest and disease control. The course is designed to be flexible to accommodate needs and you will be introduced to basic skills which will help you with the maintenance of your garden.

Entry requirements

No specific entry requirements. Learners do not need to have completed Series 1. Learners must contact the College prior to enrolling if they have any support needs.

Course content

The course will cover the following gardening skills:

  • Planting & propagation
  • Pruning
  • Soil preparation

Assessment methods

You will be continually assessed by your tutor throughout the course.

Further study and career options

You can progress onto one of our RHS accredited qualifications.

Additional information

Please bring suitable outdoor clothing clothing and steel capped boots.
