Practical Garden Design
This course is aimed at people who are interested in garden design using traditional drawing methods. At the start of the course, you will be asked to draw an area of garden. At the end of the course, you will redesign the garden, but you will be much better versed in the necessary skills required to draw and design it accurately to scale. You will have learnt the techniques required, looking at design principles such as colour theory, planting and building materials.
Entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements. You should have a good knowledge of English and must contact the College prior to enrolling if they have any support needs.
Course content
The course will cover:
- Drawing techniques
- Design principles
- Colour theory
- Plant and hard landscaping choices.
You will be working from easels using drawing equipment such as pens, pencils, colouring pencils, protractors, compasses, rulers and much more.
Assessment methods
You will be continually assessed throughout the course.
Further study and career options
You can progress onto one of our RHS accredited qualifications.
