Hair Services City and Guilds Level 3 Advanced Certificate

You will learn advanced cutting, colouring and styling techniques to build on existing knowledge learnt at level 2.

Entry requirements

  • Evidence of working at GCSE level. 
  • To begin this course you must have a good standard of spoken and written English to allow for study and competence for the online examinations. Essential: L2 qualification in Hairdressing Desirable: Working within the hairdressing industry as a stylist.

Course content

• Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
• Consultation support for colleagues on hair services
• Style and dress hair using a variety of techniques
• Cut womens hair to create a variety of looks
• Colour hair to create a variety of looks
• Bridal Hair

Assessment methods

You will be assessed through formative and summative (graded) practical assessments in the college salons, as well as theory exams via City & Guilds online assessments.

Further study and career options
During the course you will gain more advanced hairdressing skills to offer to your existing clients or when applying for employment. You can also continue your training and professional development with our other part time courses e.g. Cutting Mens Hair.
Additional information
You will be required to purchase a Level 3 Hairdressing kit for this course at a cost of £91.50. Dress code is smart black trousers, tunic purchased online and closed in, low heel, black shoes. You will also need to buy a ring binder folder for theory notes and your portfolio of evidence.
 

Pay by instalments

The College offers an instalment plan for Further Education and Higher Education courses to students where the total amount payable at the point of enrolment is £200 or more. Within the scheme there is an ability to pay up to 7 instalments, depending on the length of the courses and the final payment must be paid at least a month before the end of the course.
