Learn Basic British Sign Language (BSL)

Entry requirements

You do not need any qualifications or experience to start this course.

Course content

During the course you will learn:

  • the British Sign Language (BSL) alphabet
  • how to spell your name and read other peoples name while fingerspelling
  • how to greet in signing
  • how to ask for personal details e.g. name, address and contact details
  • how to give and ask for descriptions of people and places

Additional information

There will be an opportunity to ask for certain topics or words for signing which may help you in your work or everyday life.
