Stepping stone
Don’t let a break from education or a lack of qualifications get in the way of your higher education journey – our Access courses are designed as a stepping stone to get you there. If you are aged 19 or over, you can get a low cost loan to cover the cost of your Access course, which is completely written off when you progress on to a higher education course.
Graduation
Successfully completing your higher education course is a huge achievement, and each year at Bedford Corn Exchange we invite all our degree level students to our annual Graduation Ceremony.
We have strong partnerships with the following universities...
The University of Northampton
Our partnership with The University of Northampton gives engineering students the opportunity to complete a full BSc (Hons) in Engineering.

Come to the University of Northampton and you will see we do things a bit differently…
That’s because we believe change is the most powerful force for good in the world. Without it, we can’t move forward. Why do things the same as everyone else when a new and better way is just waiting to be found?
We know that sharing knowledge, supporting creativity and always looking for ways to make a positive difference will change the future. To help people make the changes that will transform their lives is what motivates us – people like you.
We are one of the youngest universities in the UK but already leading the way in doing good things that help society – which we call “social impact”. We have won awards for our work in this area, but what really matters to us is making sure our students and graduates have the opportunity to make their mark in the world too. That’s why we were the first university in the UK to be named as a “Changemaker Campus”.
We want to break the mould of what higher education can be, and that’s why we decided to build a whole new university from the ground up. Join us and you will be in an exclusive number as one of the first through the doors of the Waterside campus, which opens in 2018, a campus which you will quickly find has been built around the way you actually learn rather than the way you are expected to.
Perhaps you want to study for a degree to kick-start your career - or take it to the next level? Maybe you’re passionate about a subject that has grabbed your interest and won’t let go, and want to learn every detail you can? Maybe you simply want to change the world? Whatever has led you to us, we’re glad you’re finding out more about the University of Northampton.
