Guiding girls towards College

Friday 22 May 2015

Saturday 16th May saw the final of the Girlguiding Bedfordshire Great Bake-Off held at Bedford College Hospitality Training Department.

The 14 contestants whisked, baked, iced, chopped and decorated their entries and after two hours the outcome was some pretty amazing 'show stopping' cakes and scones

Then came the judging and it's a huge thanks to Masterchef Finalist and Pudding Queen Hannah Miles and Mark Lewis Assistant Director for Hospitality at Bedford College, who tasted their way through all the entries.

Ann Crome, County Commissioner, said: “We had a lot of girls and leaders take part in the competition across the County, so our finalists beat some pretty stiff competition to be here today.”

Ann added:  “We were delighted to have been able to use the great facilities at Bedford College as it gave the contestants a chance to cook in a real catering environment.”
