Art off campus

Wednesday 3 June 2015

Bedford College Higher National Diploma (HE) Photography students are exhibiting their own display at the Animal Studio and Rock City Art Premises at Castle Quay in the town centre as part of “professional practice”.

The exhibition was funded and supported by Bedford College and was open to the public from Saturday May 23rd to 27th.

Earlier Bedford College Assistant Director Alan Parsons and an associate held their own special event at the Animal Studio:

Exchange + Draw are a collaborative drawing duo a.k.a Richard Lloyd and Alan Parsons, who used the Animal Gallery as a drawing studio to carry out making work.

Previous projects have seen drawings passed between each partner for re-working where a protected time and space was allowed to respond to the other’s drawing inclinations.

The Animal Studios & Gallery event challenged this mode of working together by opening up scope for simultaneous visual and verbal interaction and exploration. The gallery was open to the public during this ‘making’ week and the resulting drawings where displayed more formally at the closing of the show.

A major Art and Design show follows at the Cauldwell Street campus at the Southbank Arts Centre from June 22nd
