Volume up on TV talent

Friday 9 May 2014

Daytime television took a turn for the better when Bedford College students hosted their own magazine programmes.

Four episodes titled: Ouse Town, Bedford Nouse, This is Bedford and Bedford Unravelled were filmed in front of a live audience at the South Banks Arts Centre and will be broadcast for all to see on YouTube.

MP Richard Fuller and musician turned film director Richard Jobson were among the guests to be interviewed. These “sofa” interviews were intercut with pre-filmed ‘packages’ of interviews on the streets of Bedford.

Richard Fuller talked about the challenges of helping young people into worthwhile careers and making sure they had interests after school.

Richard Jobson talked about how he worked with Bedford College on the filming of Wayland’s Song which was shown at film festivals across the UK and Europe.

Bedford College media students gain useful practical experience in the realm of television and other broadcast mediums. Links to their work can be found via http://m.youtube.com/user/BedFilm
