Glamorous event of the Year

Monday 19 May 2014

Bedford’s biggest hair and beauty show involving 100s of college students is taking place on May 22nd.

This event is being sponsored by Bedford Portas to link the students, and their families and friends who attend, to the many fashion and style outlets in the town centre.

Leaflet and offers leading the audience back into town for shopping and treatments will be given out on the night by BedfordBID Bluecaps.

Christina Rowe, Director of BedfordBID and Chair of the Bedford Portas Town Team said: “We had a pot of money given to us by Portas to help liven up our High Street. Nothing is quite as lovely and lively as the annual college Hair and Beauty Show and with 750 local people in the audience it is an ideal opportunity to say remind them to come back into town to visit our best fashion stores.”

The Hair and Beauty students all train at BROOKS salon which was opened in the High Street by Bedford College – demonstrating its commitment to the town centre. From there they work with local businesses as apprentices as part of their direct route to employment.

The Hair and Beauty Show is staged at the Bedford Corn Exchange and tickets are available via the Box Office next door at No 13 cafe and bar St Paul’s Square.

The national Photoshoot magazine is doing a "behind the scenes" report on talented trainee Cleo Young which will be published soon after the event.
