Bedford College links with region's BEST employers

Bedford College was delighted to see that four companies which it supports with staff training or apprentices were featured in the EEF Awards at Mercedes Brooklands.

GM UK, Marshalls Aerospace, Bourns and Selex-ES all from Bedfordshire were all finalists at the regional manufacturing awards – with two winning through to the national finals on January 30th 2013.

GM UK won the Partnership with Education award with Bourns Highly Commended.

And Alistair Cook of Marshalls won the First Year Apprentice award with his colleague Charlotte Bidwell taking the runner-up position.

Rob Thorne of Selex-ES was among the finalists in the Final Year Apprentice of the Year together with Emily Walsh of Marshalls.

Gina Bubbins, Business Development Manager for Bedford College said: “To have four employers who use Bedford College for training in these awards was amazing. We were delighted to see them all there.

“To have clients take the prizes in the Partnership with Education was particularly rewarding as Bedford College prides itself on its service to employers.”

Other Bedfordshire  firms featured at the event on November 12th included RK Harrison Insurance Service who sponsored the Health & Safety awards.
