Amanda Riches and team at the re-named Trinity Arts & Leisure at the former Bedford High School – are getting into the swim with the local community.

Now the home of The Bedford Sixth Form, the fabulous facilities are open to the public of all ages. It is also to be turned into a summer camp for children in August where there will be a fantastic range of courses from swimming, dancing, and even cookery with “chocolate delights” on the menu.

Manager Amanda Riches says: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for children to learn and be entertained during the long summer holidays in a safe and professional environment.”

Among the impressive facilities is the 25 metre, six lane swimming pool which houses a range of activities and training sessions for adults and children throughout the year.

The School of Fish takes children from the age of three as complete beginners and leads them through to the “swordfish” stage of butterfly stroke and tumble turns.

There is also the Rookie Lifeguard course coming up at May half term accredited by the Royal Life Saving Society.

There are public swim sessions from 6 am on weekdays and classes like aqua aerobics. On Saturdays the pool is available for party hire between 4pm and 6.30 pm.

In the gym related facilities there are keep fit classes, spinning and yoga among others.

Said Amanda: “The swim and gym facilities are available to everyone – as is the Trinity Theatre which can be hired by the hour for people want to stage a school, club or even a family show.”
