Student successes

Our talented acting students recently performed four plays commissioned by the National Theatre New Connections programme. The plays, entitled ‘A Vampire Story’, ‘Fugee’, ‘My Face’ and ‘Four Walls’, went down a storm when they were performed in our atmospheric studio theatre.

  • Our energetic dancers choreographed and performed ‘A Time to Dance’ which was very well received by the public and industry professionals alike. Audiences were blown away by the performance’s contemporary themes and innovative mixture of dance styles, which ranged from tap to jazz and ballet.

  • Former Bedford College student Chris Atkins, who studied Performing Arts and Music Technology at College, is now working with some of the biggest names in the music business, including David Gray and Snow Patrol, as well as companies such as Pepsi, Ferrari, Nokia and Intel. Chris moved to Dubai three years ago to work as a composer, programmer and sound engineer at Barry Kirsch Productions.

  • Lauren Smart, a Music Technology student at the College, beat off competition from more than 250 students from colleges and universities across Europe to win the Apple Creative Talent Competition. Lauren won her prize in the audio category for her song ‘Heartbroken’.
