As a Hospitality & Catering student you will have many
opportunities to work at national events and enter national and
international culinary competitions, which will increase your
confidence, skills and creativity.

College catering students recently practised their culinary
skills in Dubai, where they were welcomed into the kitchens of one
of the world’s top hotels, the six star Burj Al Arab. Other
international trips include visits to Sweden and Italy.
International trips will enhance your knowledge of global cuisine
and culture and give you the opportunity to work in teams with
students from all over the world.
Seminars and professional workshops
If you are studying for a HNC/HND, you will have the opportunity
to attend seminars and professional workshops and undertake
voluntary work experience, which will provide you with challenging
practical experiences and enhance your understanding of
professional industry standards.
Real progression opportunities
If you are a HNC/HND student, you can progress onto the third
year of a BA (Hons) degree in hospitality upon successful
completion of your course. You will also be able to apply to become
a member of the Hotel, Catering and International Management
Association (HCIMA).
Additional qualifications to complement your studies
As part of your studies, you may be able to take additional
relevant qualifications, such as food hygiene, health and safety
and food and drink service. These qualifications will provide you
with flexible and transferable skills which will enhance your
employment prospects.
