“I knew when I finished school that I wanted to start a career in either child care or catering. I knew that Bedford College was local to me and that they offered courses in both but eventually the facilities in the College’s restaurant Skyline helped me to decide on catering.”

“I chose this particular course as it allows me to work alongside studying the course is great and is very different to my work, as I’m learning the theory behind what I do on a day-to-day basis. I plan to hopefully move onto the Level 3 course next year and eventually run my own business.”

Claire, Professional Cookery Level 3

“I originally decided to stay on at school and study my AS Levels however I was getting pretty bored and so decided to come to Bedford College to enrol onto a professional cookery course. I started at Level 1 and have worked all the way up to Level 3 and next year I plan to study even more by moving onto the Higher National Diploma in cookery.”

“Skyline, the restaurant run by the College is a great environment to work in and I think it has set me up for future employment as it is an actual commercial restaurant.”

“Probably the biggest difference in me since starting my course three years ago is my confidence, I used to be really shy in the kitchen but now I can shout with the best of them!”
