Hair, Beauty & Complementary Therapies
Introduction
The Hair & Beauty industry employs more than 230,000 people
who are dedicated to helping people to look and feel their best. To
work in this industry you will need creative flair, teamwork and
communications skills and there are many different career paths to
suit your specific skills and interests. As well as hair styling,
there’s a growing demand for spa therapists and alternative
practitioners. Working hours and conditions will vary, from local
salons to large multi-specialist spas, and many people in the
health and beauty industry go on to run their own businesses or
work from their homes after they have learned their trade over a
period of years.
At College, we can offer you the chance to
gain all the skills that you will need to begin a successful career
in the hair, beauty and holistic therapies industries. You will
have the opportunity to train in the high class facilities at
BROOKS, our commercial hair and beauty salon. Our courses will
equip you with all the professional skills, competencies and
knowledge you will need to work in the industry. To enable you to
gain as much hands-on work experience as possible, we also offer
apprenticeships in hairdressing.
You will also have the opportunity to take
additional qualifications as part of your studies, for example in
customer service or self-tanning, which will enhance your
employability when you leave College.
