At this year’s
East of England show, floristry student Gemma Dennis won the
Smalley Challenge Cup in the Round and Round the Garden design
category. As well as being a full-time student, Gemma also works
part-time at Cottage Garden Florists in Kempston.
A student of Shuttleworth College opens her
own floristry business after studying at the College for four
years from evening classes through to day classes and all whilst
still working full time.
Claire McGoldrick opened “Hello Flower” in
Arlesey in March, offering a personal floristry service to
customers who want to celebrate special occasions such as weddings
and birthdays, or simply pop in to buy flowers. The idea is
to delight customers and Claire is determined to do just that.
