Our facilities

Our Construction Technology Centre provides a hi-tech virtual learning environment and real-life training workshops for students to learn carpentry, joinery, electrical, painting and decorating and bricklaying skills.

There are 20 individual painting and decorating bays that are available for you to practise stencilling, wallpapering, large area and precision painting, and gloss work.

For our electrical students there are a number of workshops and individual bays, as well as a live testing area for assessments. Furthermore, we have a dedicated photovoltaic pod which links to working solar panels on the workshop roof.

The plumbing centre main workshop has 21 plumbing bays and 12 airing cupboard spaces, lead burning facilities, steel pipe area, an unvented hot water training area and an integrated gas assessment centre.

If you are interested in construction and joinery, there are several workshops with specialist spaces for domestic construction, including kitchen units, bathrooms and Dormer window frames, roof construction, including a rig for cut roofing, and other wooden constructions such as staircases and structural framework.

If brickwork is your trade of choice, you will have the use of our fully equipped bricklaying workshop, which includes a brand new Pan Mixer.
