Why choose us?

  • Professional industry recognition

We have gained a Microsoft Academy Award for our achievement in delivering the CLAIT (Computer Literacy and Information Technology) qualification. This demonstrates that you will benefit from teaching and resources that have been approved by industry leaders and that what you will study is highly relevant to today’s workplace.
  • Gain professional workplace skills

All full-time level 3 courses have CISCO certified units integrated into them, which will enable you to study professional IT courses as part of your main qualification. Student focus groups have reported that these modules are particularly enjoyable and that our students feel they are taught what to expect from the industry.
  • Trips and visits to complement your studies

Educational visits are organised to give you the opportunity to see how IT is used in a real-life setting; last year our students went to France to learn about the role IT has to play in the rides and exhibits at Disneyland.
  • Excellent support and guidance

You will benefit from excellent support and guidance: there is an active tutorial programme and Level 3 students have regular UCAS group tutorials and frequent opportunities to visit universities, both of which are excellent preparation for the application process and gaining an understanding of university life.
  • Progress to higher education

In 2008, many of our Computing students went on to higher education, studying courses including Digital Media Development, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Network Management and Security, Software Engineering and Computer Games Programming, at a range of institutions including the University of Reading, the University of Brighton, Sheffield Hallam University, De Montfort University and the University of Bedfordshire.
  • Fully equipped Learning Centres

Our Learning Centres in Bedford, Luton and Rushden are fully equipped to help you improve your general computer skills and study for recognised computer user qualifications using Microsoft Office products.
The IT Skills Centre which is on the College main campus offers a range of IT courses from Levels 1 to 3 which lead to nationally recognised qualifications, in a flexible open learning supported environment.
