Sophie Coulthard, Childcare Level 3
“I didn’t get on well at my old Sixth Form, so decided to come
to Bedford College where I could study a work based subject. Ever
since I was young, I’ve always wanted to work with children, so
studying childcare has been both a fun and rewarding experience.
The course does cover a lot of work - however, I’ve found Student
Services to be a tremendous help, as they can offer you help,
support and advice.”
“In the future I’d love to set up my own
nursery. For the time being however, I’ve already lined myself up a
job working at a local nursery.”
Rebecca Adams-Bry, Childcare Level 3
“I came to Bedford College to start afresh, to
meet new teachers and make new friends! I’ve always been interested
in working with children and wanted to progress onto Level 3 after
studying my GCSEs.”
“My course is great as there’s a mixed range
of ages and everybody gets on really well. I used to study in St.
Neots, so I’ve found coming to Bedford and being in a town centre
is a really exciting and buzzing environment. After college I’d
like to work at a nursery or in a hospital as a play
specialist.”
Laura, Health & Social Care National Diploma
“I didn’t enjoy my time at school so sixth
form wasn’t really an option for me. I saw sixth form as a
continuation of school and I wanted to explore opportunities in a
more adult environment. I wanted to get into Nursing or Midwifery
and I knew that Bedford College offered courses which would give me
the option of having direct placements – so I could experience a
nursing environment and decide whether it’s for me.”
“I much prefer the college environment – it
offers the mature approach to learning that I was looking for
whilst the tutors are great and really understanding. I’m currently
studying the Health and Social Care National Diploma and I plan to
continue learning at university, the College regularly takes
students to uni fair’s which helps me to make an informed decision
about where I end up studying.”
