We would like to reward those students
who go ‘above and beyond’, and so the Student Services team has
introduced a new scheme in order to do this - the Student Legend
award scheme.
There are three strands to the scheme - Student Council, Student
Ambassadors and Student Champions - a student may choose from a
number of different activities and events (as many or as few as he
or she chooses) and record their hours of service in a log book.
This will result in being awarded a Student Legend Certificate at
Level 1 (Bronze), Level 2 (Silver) or Level 3 (Gold).
I’d like to welcome our students to this scheme and hope that by
taking part they will not only enhance their future careers but
also make their time with us a memorable one.
A Student Legend is:
-
Passionate about his/her subject or
course and wants to share this with others
-
Keen to develop his/her talents,
skills and knowledge, as well as meet other students from different
departments
-
Happy to work either quietly behind
the scenes or up front and central
-
A proactive community member of
Bedford/Shuttleworth Colleges.
What do I achieve?

Whilst working as a member of a
cross-college team developing a number of valuable, marketable, as
well as transferable skills
-
Some informal work experience,
interning whilst studying
-
A Reference for your: CV, UCAS form or
for employment
-
Above and Beyond Certificate of
Achievement as a Legend.

Finally, there will be a thank you
party at the end of the academic year and prizes for outstanding
contributions!
