Centrally-located at the heart of Bedford, our
Cauldwell Street Campus is easily accessible from virtually
anywhere in Bedford – and beyond. Whether your son or daughter is
arriving for their studies by car or going green and catching a
bus, the train, cycling or walking, getting to Bedford College is
easy.
See
maps of all of our sites, including Shuttleworth College, as
well as our Plumbing Technology and Vehicle Technology Centres.
Support for transport costs
If your son or daughter live three or more
miles from College via the nearest available safe walking route,
they may be eligible for help for or towards travel costs. Our
Student Services team hold a number of application forms for many
of the surrounding local authority schemes, and can offer all the
help and advice your son or daughter may need regarding travel
costs.
You can access application forms for this
support scheme by visiting our
support pages or contacting your relevant local authority.
But remember, even if your
son or daughter are turned down by their local authority, the
College will still try to help as much as possible with transport
costs – so don’t be put off, just talk to us!
Green ways – bus, train, bike & on foot
At the College, we are committed to protecting
the environment – we encourage students to seek green ways to
arrive at College, and thanks to our great location using either
public transport, cycling or walking is not only great for the
environment, but often the easiest way to get here.
There are bus stops right outside the
Cauldwell Street Campus, as well as the Council’s Borough Hall,
with the bus station just 5 minutes’ walk from the College. Check
out the local bus
operator’s website for more information on the wide network of
routes into Bedford College. Another option is Bedford’s excellent
park and ride scheme.
Arriving by train is just as simple, with two
train stations situated nearby to our Cauldwell Street Campus.
Bedford’s main train station is a 15 minute walk from Campus and
offers regular services by East
Midlands Trains and First Capital Connect
to and from London, Luton and other local towns, as well as north
to Leicester and beyond. Bedford St. John’s station is just a five
minute walk from the Cauldwell Street Campus and is operated by the
Marston Vale
Community Rail Partnership serving local towns and villages in
the Marston Vale area between Bedford and Bletchley.
