Personal support

At Bedford College, we provide award-winning support on an individual level. We are proud to have earned the Matrix Standard award, which means that the professional guidance and support we offer is of the highest quality.

Nothing should stand in the way of your son or daughter’s studies, be it a personal issue such as stress or depression, to practical concerns about careers or course options, to health issues like eating problems or substance addiction – when they can’t come to you, we will offer as much help and advice to resolve our students’ problems as they need, because the wellbeing of all of our students is paramount.

Each student at the College has a designated personal tutor, all of whom have completed full training in delivering personal support.

The College is also committed, through our Equality and Diversity Policy, to providing a learning environment which welcomes and values individuals equally, and aims to provide the support to enable all students to succeed, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, learning difficulty or disability.

It’s all part of our Every Student Matters initiative, which states that whilst at the College, your son or daughter can expect to:

  • Be healthy
  • Stay safe
  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Make a positive contribution
  • Achieve economic wellbeing
