Sometimes it helps to hear from real people –
below are some parents that have gone through the experience of
having their son or daughter study at Bedford College. Read on to
find out what they have to say.
Angela Price and daughter Colette (A-Level student)
“My son also came to Bedford College, it’s
local and he did really well here. I suggested Bedford College to
Colette and since being here she has really
achieved; she’s not looked back since.
“I know I can always pick up the phone
if I need to speak to the tutors. Colette is doing really
well but I know if ever there is any reason for concern or if she
needs any assistance, the tutors are ready to lend a hand.
“Student Services were also really
helpful. They provided Colette with advice after she left
school and as a result she knew what she wanted to do and how to
achieve it.”
Alyson Press and son Samuel Price (BTEC National Diploma
student)
“Coming to Bedford College was definitely
the best course of action. Sam was unhappy at
school and he wasn’t enjoying his A-Levels.
“I knew about Bedford College because I work
at an upper school and those students who have gone onto further
education at the College have given us very positive feedback, so I
was aware of its good reputation.
“I am pleased that Sam studied at
Bedford College as it definitely made Sam a lot more
confident and less introverted. It’s helped him to grow and
mature.”
Helen Truswell and daughter Rachael (A-Level student)
“Rachael was unsure whether to stay on at
school or come to college, but I think she was ready for a
change and wanted to branch out.
“We had a chat with the head of sixth form at
Bedford College, and made the decision to choose college. It was
definitely the right choice, and now – thanks to
how well Rachael got on – her younger sister is also at the
College.
“The College has been terrifically
supportive for Rachael and has really helped her to
succeed.”
Tim Beacon and daughter Ruth (A-Level student)
“When Ruth first spoke to me about coming to
College I was initially worried, as when I was younger colleges in
general didn’t have a great reputation. On touring the College
however I was pleased to see that my initial fears were completely
unfounded; the College was extremely professional
and you could tell that there was a great atmosphere
between staff and students.
“When we looked into it, we saw that Bedford
College has some of the best results in the area.
I have worked in education myself and am Chair of Governors at a
local school, so I would say that I am well-placed to recognise
good educational practise.
“Bedford College seems to be a great
place to be. I have seen my daughter thrive at college and
I would certainly encourage my other children to come to the
College.”
