Becoming an apprentice

Becoming an Apprentice

As a Bedford College apprentice you’ll get paid and gain valuable work experience while you train in one of a number of commercial and/or industry professions.

Most apprenticeships take between two and four years to complete, following which you can go on to enjoy a prosperous and fulfilling career.

There are a number of reasons for choosing an apprenticeship:

Get the best of both worlds by earning as you learn.

  • Choose from a wide range of practical trades and jobs.
  • Enjoy the freedom and responsibility of getting paid a real wage for your job, yours to spend on whatever you need.
  • Gain industry-recognised qualifications, key skills and specialist techniques that could see you progress to high-level jobs in your chosen trade.
  • Learn from valuable job experience and time spent on real, busy job sites.

Information for parents and guardians

Making the right decision about employment and training can be difficult. We have produced an information leaflet for parents and guardians, but if you have any further questions about apprenticeships, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01234 291000.
