Pauline Kendall

“In my role I co-ordinate the courses we offer and make sure our
students’ learning experience is the best possible, from organising
exams and providing support to ensuring the excellence of our
teaching staff.”
“After earning a politics & sociology degree at Exeter
University and her Postgraduate Certificate in Education at York
University. What I really love most is teaching – that’s my
passion, It’s great to see students motivated to succeed.”
Liz Little & Mark Willis
A-Level English Literature
“I love teaching English, because I get paid to read books and
watch plays. English is a subject where students are encouraged to
form and express their own opinions, they learn to explore
different ways of interpreting texts. A-Level English develops
skills in discussion, reading and essay writing.”
“At Bedford College we have experienced staff with great
facilities including a newly refurbished library with a good range
of resources. Our students also benefit from visits to various
theatre productions and trips to conferences.”
Stuart Cox
A-Level Archaeology, Environmental Studies,
Geography
“Being responsible for 3 subject areas is great for me,
Archaeology is a hobby of mine and is a great subject to teach as
it is both practical and academic, I am also fascinated by what is
happening around the world and how people and places differ.”
“Teaching at Bedford College allows me to work with students
with a range of academic abilities and from various backgrounds
which makes teaching more rewarding and exhilarating. We offer a
much wider range of A-Level subjects than many other Sixth Forms,
and give students the chance to study in a more adult environment,
with experts teaching in each department.”
Nikola Danisova
BTEC Applied Science and
A-Level Human Biology
“I hope to bring my knowledge and understanding of the industry
to the classroom to make science relevant. Human biology as a
subject has a broad range of interlinked disciplines, from the
molecular and cellular aspects of biology all the way to how the
human body and organisms link to populations. As one of the
sciences it opens up doors and possibilities to a range of courses
at university. Studying biology and sciences can improve your job
prospects as science qualifications are highly regarded by
employers. Students learn many transferable skills, the ability to
approach complex problems in an analytical and logical way, and to
methodically and accurately handle data.”
James Pudney & Judy Lindsay
A-Level
Psychology
“James and Judy are experienced specialist psychology teachers
and have been teaching Psychology at Bedford College for about 10
years. “The best thing about teaching psychology is that students
cover a diverse range of subjects. Psychology is relevant to the
world students live in and addresses interesting questions such as:
how gamblers think, or what happens to the brain during sleep?” “We
both genuinely enjoy the subject and continue our own psychology
study. Psychology is a well respected subject for university
applications, and helps develop a range of skills including good
communication, analysis and data interpretation.”
