Facilities and resources
Over the past four years, we have invested over £10 million to
provide our students with state-of-the-art facilities.
The £6 million South Bank Arts Centre opened in 2007, features
hi-tech music technology editing suites, recording studios and
graphic design studios equipped with the latest Apple Macs.
Springs is our £2.5 million sports and leisure centre,
complete with a full-sized sports hall, spacious dance studio and
fully-equipped fitness suite with cardiovascular equipment and
weights. The centre is home to our Sport Academies in
badminton, basketball, football, golf and rugby.
Our library and resources centre gives you access to over 40,000
items including books, dvds, cds and journals – everything you will
ever need for your studies! In addition, we have a fully equipped
IT Open Access centre that features the latest PCs, Microsoft
Office applications, internet access, photocopying and scanning
facilities.

Moodle is our Virtual
Learning Environment (VLE).
This is an online learning tool which gives you access to course
information and enables you to communicate with your tutors and
other students.
You can use Moodle to find out about your course syllabus,
course notes, handouts and assessments. You can
also access a number of discussion boards and chat rooms
through the system.

When you join Bedford
College you will have your own email account. This will
enable you to communicate with tutors, fellow students and friends
outside of College.
Moodle and email can be accessed from College computers and
also via the Internet from home, your local library or internet
cafes.

The College's Library & Resources Centre has a
comprehensive range of learning resources covering all your subject
needs. There are over 40,000 items in stock, including books,
videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs, careers resources and journals.
Electronic resources
As a student of Bedford College you will also have access to a
growing range of electronic learning resources.
In addition to the many popular educational websites available,
the College also offers you access to specific course-related
materials.
Some packages are only available in-house, while others are
available from this website or off campus.
You can access an online collection of over 8,000 electronic
journals and newspaper titles, many available to be printed or
emailed to your own email address.
Before using this collection you will need to obtain a password
from your lecturer or the library staff.

The College refectory
and coffee shop provide a variety of hot meals, snacks and soft
drinks throughout the day. We offer a range of nutritionally
balanced salads, sandwiches and snacks to make healthy eating
easy.
