“What I love most is teaching. That’s my passion.”

After earning a Politics and Sociology Degree at Exeter University and her PGCE at York University, Pauline built up valuable experience teaching in a wide range of environments.  She joined Bedford College as a lecturer in 1993, moving up to Course Manager and finally Assistant Director.

As Assistant Director, Pauline coordinates the courses we offer and makes sure our students’ learning experience is the best possible – from organising exams and support to ensuring the excellence of our teaching staff.

A teacher of A Level Sociology and Politics, Pauline is also a senior examiner for a major examinations board and has been involved with examination marking for the past 20 years.

You can also hear what Pauline has to say about Bedford College Sixth Form in our A Levels student vodcast.

Lecturers – A Level, Psychology

“It is very rewarding helping students to achieve their full potential.”

Psychology has become, both nationally and at Bedford College, a very popular A Level choice.

Judy Lindsay and James Pudney are the A Level Psychology lecturers in the Sixth Form Centre.

James, who took his degree at Anglia Ruskin University, enjoys teaching the subject because it not only covers a broad base of skills, but includes a diverse range of topics – from social interaction to how the brain works.

And after earning her degree at Durham University, Judy has built up a variety of experience before coming to teach at Bedford College.

Student Personal Adviser

“Helping students with difficulties go on to university or great jobs is immensely rewarding.”

Beccy is the first point of call for students who, for whatever reason, may need some help with their study.

Providing a one-to-one support to ensure their progress, Beccy’s role is to provide a friendly link between students, tutors and support services.

Beccy positively welcomes and helps our A Level students with a wide range of services – including travel and welfare advice, emotional support, and help with time management and study motivation.
