Tim BartlettGCSE Lecturer

I have worked for Bedford College for seven years and I still love what I teach! My main subjects are maths, psychology, statistics and PE, and whilst they are quite diverse, I find them incredibly interesting, making teaching them so much easier.

I am proud of many things that I have achieved at the College but probably the most rewarding thing is knowing that I have had a direct impact on students who may well have dropped out of education without an intervention from my team and I. I have also won a joint research fellowship from LSIS and the IfL, where we produced a report on the effect of social learning environments have on behaviour and achievement.

The College has supported me in studying a masters in mathematics education, focussing on the role creativity has in the mathematics classroom, and I am also a course manager. However for me, crucially, the most important thing remains teaching and learning within the classroom.
