Introduction
Thank you for
your interest in Bedford College. As one of the best general
further education colleges in the country – with over 3,000
full-time students and 12,000 part-time students – we have a strong
reputation to uphold. Our vision is to deliver world-class skills
and vocational education to the communities we serve.
In November 2008, Ofsted, the governing body
responsible for monitoring the standard of education provided by
schools and colleges, conducted an inspection of Bedford College.
We were graded outstanding in four out of five key areas, and
awarded the second highest rating, good, in the fifth category. Our
success isn’t just academic – we are also a major local employer,
and take pride in an 87% staff satisfaction rate, which is
significantly higher than the national average. To be successful,
we believe everyone here has a part to play – and we value each and
every member of staff.
I am pleased that you are considering the
College as a potential employer. As we grow, we need people that
can really make a difference and who can work together to encourage
continued success in our students, our staff and in each other. Our
focus is on excellence as standard – and we welcome likeminded
people who are ready to play their part in taking the College
forward.
Bedford College is recognised as one of the
best colleges in the country – both in its educational excellence
and as an employer. We believe we have a lot to be proud of and
hope you will take the time to find out a little more about our
working environment by reading about our College aims and values, our latest awards,
our staffing
structure and our staffing
policy.
