This course will provide you with the necessary skills and
knowledge for taking the IELTS (International English Language
Testing System) test, which measures your ability to communicate in
English across all four language skills – listening, reading,
writing and speaking.
The test reflects and tests English as it is used in real work,
study and life situations, and is a requirement for entry into
higher education in England.
A typical student is probably someone who is
planning to go on to higher level study either in the UK or abroad,
and needs to demonstrate that they have reached a level of English
appropriate for their chosen course. The score required depends
upon the requirements of the establishment and the course you wish
to study.
To start this course you
will need to come for an interview and bring a valid passport,
visa, or identity card. Your language skills will then be assessed
on entry in order to ensure that you are able to work at a level
which corresponds to the score you are aiming for.
You will develop your:
• examination techniques
• vocabulary
• grammar
• language style.
At the end of your
course you will be able to sit the IETLS test at Anglia Ruskin
University in Cambridge. IELTS tests usually take place on
Saturdays.
You will need to book and pay for this test separately and
arrange your own transport to Anglia Ruskin University in
Cambridge.
You may progress on to
higher education in the UK, providing you have the necessary
subject qualifications.
