Leading Lights set to shine at Bedford Museum
An exhibition has been launched at the newly
reopened Bedford Museum involving the work of Bedford College
foundation degree students.
Leading Lights is a community leadership programme that gives
people the opportunity to learn more about councillors, school
governors and court magistrates.
The exhibition was launched by Frank Branston, Mayor of Bedford
on April 7.
The first Leading Lights programme ran during 2008 and past
participants were on hand to talk through their experiences of this
innovative programme. Bedford College students, studying for
foundation degrees in Animation, have designed a multi-media
installation highlighting the project, and are pictured above
with the Mayor.
Carolynne Roberts, Leading Lights coordinator said: “The Leading
Lights project aims to show just how easy it is to get involved and
make a difference for your community. We are pleased to be working
with Bedford Museum to celebrate the work of past participants and
provide a glimpse of what the new course has to offer.”
As part of the exhibition three events were being held to extend
opportunities to meet serving leaders such as councillors,
magistrates and school governors.
