Training Quality Standard
Bedford College continues
its campaign to provide the best possible training for employment
in the county.
Already rated 9 or 10 out of 10 by 50% of
employers who use the College, it has now been certified in the
Training Quality Standard (TQS) Part B, a key national benchmark,
in these critical job training areas:
- Building Services Engineering
- Hospitality, Leisure, Travel &
Tourism
This is a further seal on
the success of Bedford College, which in 2009 was recognised as one
of the top training providers in the UK by achieving its initial
certification in the Training Quality Standard (TQS).
“The standard is designed to help
employers identify not just high quality training delivery, but
those organisations best able to ensure training is flexible and
focused on maximising the return on their investment,” explains
Director of Enterprise Sharon Chinneck.
“TQS has two parts: and Part B
focuses on sector expertise - how well a training organisation
develops an understanding of a particular local sector or industry,
and deploys products and services to meet those employers’
requirements.
“We are delighted that the
feedback from businesses we work with has helped us to gain
this prestigious accreditation - which other employers will be
able to recognise as a sign of the benefits we can bring through
quality training made available at the right time and the
right place.”
Only a few of colleges in the UK gain a
second and more detailed TQS for specific areas of work with
industry. Fewer still gain TQS Part B in more than one area.
