Rugby Academy Information
Following promotion to the British Colleges premier league,
last season was very successful, finishing second and reaching the
quarter finals of the BCS cup for the very first time.
This season, we are entered in both the league
and cup, and are looking to develop the rugby academy further by
allowing students from all courses to play. To do this, we would
appreciate the support of tutors across the college, both at
Bedford and Shuttleworth, in releasing players wishing to
participate in Wednesday enrichment rugby.
We offer structured training twice a week run
by two qualified coaches, a game every Wednesday afternoon, and the
opportunity to represent England at college level.
It is important to note that students wishing
to play, are entitled to this as enrichment and do not necessarily
need to come to the academy training sessions. However, due to
health and safety requirements, we do request that these players
are experienced and either train with a club or have represented
their school previously.
